    Ruhengeri Institute of Higher Education (INES-Ruhengeri) believes that quality assurance in teaching and learning is a shared responsibility. Responsibilities for ensuring quality in teaching and learning in the institution reside in structural and organizational entities as well as individual staff and students. The Institution has broad oversight of standards, policy and processes surrounding its academic endeavour. Collectively, teaching staff and academic managers are responsible for ensuring that the design, development, management, teaching and assessment of courses and subjects facilitate effective learning, while students have responsibility to engage in the learning process.

    The institution is calling for applications to the following current vacant position:

    LECTURER/ASSISTANT LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    A PhD in Biomedical Sciences / Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences or related discipline with a proven track of experience in the field. A specialization in Medical Microbiology, Histo-Pathology will be an advantage.
    Ability to work well with a diverse population of people and independently;
    Possession of a RAHPC License is a must
    Good computer skills in word application, Excel, PowerPoint and able to use SPSS,
    Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English and ability to develop creative future approaches to learning support.

    A PhD / Master’s degree in Statistics, Agricultural Statistics, Agricultural Economics or related discipline with a proven track of experience in the field;

    LECTURER/ ASSISTANT LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF FRENCH-ENGLISH WITH EDUCATION

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    A PhD I Master’s degree in French, French-English, or related discipline with a proven track of experience in the field .
    Ability to work well with a diverse population of people and independently;
    Good computer skills in word application, Excel, PowerPoint and able to use SPSS,
    Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English and ability to develop creative future approaches to learning support.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ABOVE TEACHI G STAFF

    Teach the students and ensure adherence to and compliance with current advances in both research and pedagogy, including appropriate textbooks and other literature sources
    Compile teaching, study tools and other instructional materials, select appropriate textbooks and other literature sources, support teaching assistants and laboratory and/or field work
    Review, evaluate and provide advisory services on research proposal presented for either thesis or funding by students
    Mobilize resources for research, teaching, (product/business) development, networking, outreach, dissemination of research findings community service, internships and placements
    Engage in relevant Cutting edge research along with students and other academic and technical staff
    Provide advisory services in publishing research outputs by students in reputable journals and periodicals that enhances the visibility and recognition of INES-Ruhengeri as an institution of research excellence in the various thematic research fields

    DEAN OF STUDENTS’ WELFAIRE, COMMUNITY SERVICES AND CAREER ADVISORY CENTER

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Education Administration, Pedagogy, Sociology, or related discipline with a proven track of at least 3 years’ experience in the field .
    Ability to work well with a diverse population of people and independently;
    Good computer skills in word application, Excel, PowerPoint and able to use SPSS.
    Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English .

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

    The counseling and placement of students;
    The provision of chaplaincy services through the Chaplaincy agent to students
    The resolution of conflict between students and halls and hostel of residence as well as conflicts involving students outside of halls and hostels;
    Making representation to INES-Ruhengeri about ways of enhancing the quality of student’s life;
    Ensuring that maintenance of cordial relations among the various student groups and the student body as a whole, to ensure that they obtain maximum benefit from their institution experience;
    Providing leadership to all bodies and activities that promote the well-being of students of the institution including the INES Student’s Union (INES-SU);
    Working with student groups in developing extra-curricular programmes and activities of INES-Ruhengeri;
    Co-coordinating with the groups to encourage the participation of students in the activities that promote personal growth and development of students;
    Encouraging the development of a student culture that encourages exercise of leadership, respect for diversity and the traditions of the institution, and responsibility for personal actions;
    Ensuring that any disciplinary actions imposed on any student(s) by the recognized authority of the institution are compiled with.

    DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

    IT Technician (I)

    Qualification and Experience:

    Advanced diploma (A I) in Computer Science or related fields from a technical or vocational school with at least upper second class, first division (distinction).
    Knowledge of current new ICT technologies (such in Software, Networking … ), their usage and capabilities.
    Holding ICT related certificates (CCNA””,), proven portfolio and relating ICT to job creation skills is an added value.
    Proven experience working in the same field is an added value


    Duties and responsibilities

    To coordinate scheduling of students and teachers for the purpose of maintaining computer lab operations and activities.
    To instruct students and teachers in computer lab technology and software applications (e.g. answers questions, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing their understanding of lab operations and reinforcing academic concepts.
    To maintain computer lab (e.g. instructional materials, appropriate software, set up materials for daily activities, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment and programs to enhance the instructional program.


    BIOMEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE
    Tutorial Assistant and Lab Analyst in Phlebotomy and Anatomy Laboratory (1)

    Qualifications & Education required
    Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science is a must
    Possession of a RAHPC License is a must
    Graduated from INES-Ruhengeri is a must
    The general average point for 4 years must be above 15/20

    Duties and Responsibilities

    To assist students in biomedical laboratory sciences to adjust to trainee group and ensure optimal work performance in assign ward to meet all customer objectives and train all students to minimize infection and contamination.
    To assist the student biomedical laboratory sciences in integration of theory and practice, specific to the course’s learning activities and level of the learner.
    To directly observe and guides students’ learning activities with clients
    To evaluate the student’s development of clinical reasoning skills.
    Provides feedback to the lead department regarding the clinical setting’s effectiveness in supporting student accomplishment of the course and program outcomes.
    To train students how to perform duties in the clinical site and answer their questions
