    Peace Building Specialist

    JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PEACE BUILDING SPECIALIST:
    1. To provide expert level strategies in peace building and education, conflict prevention, resolution, transformation and mitigation and monitor their implementation;
    2. Development of strategies for inclusiveness with attention to gender integration, youth engagement, social inclusion and empowerment of historically marginalized persons and monitor their implementation ;
    3. Identify and promote best practices and innovative approaches to social protection and reintegration of genocide survivors, returnees and ex
    - prisoners;
    4. Devise strategies for healing of wounds caused to Rwandans by dark passed history and monitor their implementation;
    5. Analyze laws and policies with regard to conformity with unity and reconciliation principles and sustainable peace;
    6. Carrying out stakeholders analysis to identify the key actors in peace building NURC has to interact with;
    7. Coordination and smooth networking between stakeholders in peace building in collaboration with in charge of partnership in NURC, to increase efficiency in delivery;
    8. Put up safe and reliable mechanism to receive information on issues that may hinder peace, unity and reconciliation and analyze them;
    9. Conduct conflict analysis activities, including the development of an Early Warning and Response System;
    10. Coordinate interventions that seek to address lasting peace;
    11. Support the design of sound theories of change; ensure that results from conflict analysis inform theories of change and planning, including a continued process of updating;
    12. Support the monitoring and evaluation of peace building education results, including an ongoing learning process to ensure that evidence on peace building practice informs programs implementation;
    13. Carry out other related duties as required by the supervisor.

    Job Profile

    Master degree in conflict management, , sociology, Political Sciences, Psychology 1 year of experience or A0 in Sociology, Political sciences and Psychology 3 years of experience.

    Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required:

    - Good team work and team building skills,

    - Capacity to work and interact with multiple stakeholders especially foreign partners to the institution;

    - Good communication (both oral and written) and peace building skills with multi
    - dimension partners, hardworking and demonstrate capacity to work under pressure with minimum supervision,

    - High sense of responsibility and integrity;

    - Maturity and confidence in dealing with the staff of government institutions and private sector;

    - Ability to seek and apply knowledge, information and best practices from multiple sectors;

    - Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;

    - Advanced computer literacy and proficiency, especially related to professional office software packages (Microsoft Office and graphics);

    - Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English, and /or French both written and spoken is an advantage

    Unity & Reconciliation Researcher & Monitoring Specialist

    Job Description

    - Coordinate research activities and measurement of their impact on NURC’s mandate;

    - Organize the identification of research themes related to Unity & Reconciliation;

    - Overall research works and coordinate the dissemination of findings;

    - Identify research themes related to unity and reconciliation, prevention and management of conflicts, etc.

    - Prepare terms of reference for researches to be conducted;

    - Supervise research works and coordinate the dissemination of findings;

    - Organize mobilization of partner’s support on ongoing research works;

    - Coordinate the measurement of the impact of research on improvement of Unity & Reconciliation;

    - Prepare summary of research findings and their dissemination;

    - Conduct qualitative and quantitative opinion surveys on the process of unity and reconciliation and other
    critical issues which the Commission should address;

    - Build partnerships with governance and conflict management research centres;

    - Propose strategies for impact evaluation of the Unity & Reconciation policy & program;

    - Collect and analyse data related to Unity & Reconciation, propose improvements and harmonization of the process.

    Job Profile

    Master’s Degree in Conflict resolution & Management, Political Sciences, Sociology, History, Psychology, Philosophy with 1 year of working experience or A0 in Political Sciences, Sociology, History, Psychology, Philosophy with 3 years of working experience
